Santiago Charriere is an Argentine director who moves with great versatility between large-scale advertising and independent cinema. His films stand out for their precise handling of humor and a strong emphasis on post-production, combining technical craft with powerful ideas. His work has been internationally recognized, earning him a Silver Lion in the Film category at Cannes and a Lapiz de Platino, among other accolades. In parallel, he develops a raw, auteur-driven body of work that explores deeply Argentine dystopias. His debut feature, Poner al rock de moda, won the Audience Award at BAFICI 2015. In 2019, he premiered La ciudad de Jobino at the same festival, beginning an international run that included, among others, the London Documentary Film Festival. He recently presented Las fuerzas extrañas at BAFICI, a short film that serves as the first part of a larger project comprised of four pieces that will form a feature film. His constant exploration as a director results in films that blend honest observation with dynamic, open and ever-moving narratives.
